In addition to great food and fun, there was Beth's brilliant idea (that she stole from a magazine) of instead of a guest book, have the guests write little notes to the couple on handmade cards and place them in jars labeled "Wishes" "Advice" and "Favorite Memories."
Here is a sampling of some of the responses we received....
Wishes
I guess you thought the wedding was supposed to be all about you. The nerve!
-I wish I had as much wiper fluid as you.
-Sunshine and rainbows.
-May the two of you grow so close that when one cries the other tastes tears.
-May your joy grow each day.
-May light, love, and laughter fill your lives.
-I wish you 10000000000 more wishes.
Advice
-Keep your eyes on each other... Let nothing sway you from your commitment to each other.
-Get a puppy someday. A teeny one. But not a teacup dog. Those are really high maintenance.
-Keep laughing, keep loving, keep being friends.
-Don't stop talking to each other.
-Never fight with your clothes on.
-Never go to bed angry, stay up and fight.
-Spoil each other.
-Tell each other I love you every day.
-Be sure to keep your wiper fluid topped off.
-Keep the faith.
-The flowers of May are fine, but the grapes of October make the best wine. Long life.
