Gumnickopedia is a collaborative project to collect and share the stories, pictures, vocabulary, tall tales, eccentricities, etc., of the family of Jim and Jean Gumnick, their children, grandchildren, spouses, in-laws, significant others, pets, and sundry innocent bystanders. It was launched on September 3, 2006, by Ed Gumnick. Contact him if you want to join in the fun. This collaborative project uses a web application called MediaWiki. MediaWiki makes it easy for many users to build new pages, add to or edit existing pages, add images, and so forth, without a lot of specialized knowledge about web software. If you’d like to read about how to use MediaWiki, visit the MediaWiki Help page. I’d suggest starting with the section on Editing Pages. MediaWiki makes linking and cross-referencing pages a snap, so you can get to any page a variety of different ways. Gumnickopedia also contains a few pages with pointers on using MediaWiki.
