Shadow

   Shadow was one of our more playful dogs. He loved to play “soccer” with me in the backyard of the Oak Ridge house for as long as I’d keep it up. This game was played with me standing at the bottom of the yard and kicking a ball (whatever kind was available) up the hill toward him. He would attack the ball and chase/herd it back down the hill toward me. When he got to be five or six feet away from me, he’d break off the chase and run back to his position near the top of the yard to wait for my next kick. Shadow and I had some kind of special bond. He loved everyone, but when I came over to visit the Oak Ridge house, he would go completely crazy with excitement, yelping and jumping all over me and whimpering as if he’d missed me terribly. I sure miss him….
